Sponsor since 2006 Easter Tournament General Information
Invitations usually go out after Christmas. If you do not receive an invitation, either we don't have your correct contact name and address, or you are new. For information on accommodation click here, for information on Prince George, click here. If you want to receive an invitation, send a request to the secretary. Photographer: Kristen Baillie
The tournament is played under the Canadian Adult Recreational Hockey Association (CARHA) rules (Click here for some reminders). There is NO RED LINE. Registration: Remember to register for the tournament. Click here for forms and process. Sending a cheque is great but not enough. We must have your registration forms to plan your first game time, properly seed you in a division, for insurance with CARHA, liability with the City of Prince George, etc. etc. A team roster is important too. It is changeable up until your first game. Divisions: Depending on interest, we will organize three Divisions - Over 35, Over 45, & Over 50. You may include women on your team as long as they are over 35. Don’t Drink & Drive! The "Drive Alternative" is available for the tournament. This company will drive you and your vehicle home. The cost is about one-and-a-half of that of a taxi. Divisions: Each Division is divided into groups of four or six teams each. We try to place teams in divisions where they will be competitive by assessing previous years' performance and by input from referees. As well, we do our best to accommodate start times for teams travelling from out of town. So let us know if you want special consideration. Points for Each Game: Each game is worth a total of 10 points. Game points are allocated as follows:
In the event of a tie in any of 4a, b, c, d, or e above, one point is awarded to each team. The Shoot-Out: Each team selects three players. The home team shoots first. All team players must gather at their respective team bench while a player is shooting (See Shoot-out Rules). Ties: In the event of a Divisional tie, the team with the least penalty minutes is the winner. If still tied, the team with the least goals against is the winner. Games: A game consists of two 20-minute stop time periods. The ice is cleaned every second period immediately following the shoot-out. Players: Players must be 35 years-old as of the first day of the tournament. No player may play for any other team, other than for the team he or she is registered. An exemption may occur in the event of an injury to a goaltender. Penalties: Any player receiving three penalties in one game, is ejected from that game. Any player receiving a major penalty may be ejected from the Tournament at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. All tournament disputes are settled by the Tournament Discipline Committee.
