General Information:

We currently organize teams to attend the tournaments indicated on the left (they are listed in seasonal order from top to bottom). To go to one of these tournaments call or e-mail the Secretary and you will be placed on the list.   Spares too when there is room! You just have to indicate your interest and we'll place you on the list.  Click here for information on our tournament.

How We Determine Who Goes?

Since the PGOHA subsidizes tournament fees, all full-time players have first choice.  Full-time players who went the previous year have first choice for attending again, however; they must pay their $40 tournament fee one month prior to the tournament date to hold their spot.  Full-time players on the waitlist are then called to fill vacant spots.   Next, spares or ex full-time players who have attended the tournament before, and lastly new spares.

How to Organize a Tournament:

If you would like to organize a team for any tournament, especially one not listed on the left, then please do the following:

  1. First ensure there is room in the tournament for a team!
  2. Obtain the contact information with a name, address, postal code, phone number, and e-mail address so the PGOHA Treasurer can send a cheque, etc.
  3. Try and find out about other tournaments that are at the same time.  We have a number of members who go to tournaments with other teams.  This can make it difficult to get players.  For example, the 100 Mile House Tournament usually coincides with the Vanderhoof and Jasper Tournaments.
  4. Present the information to an executive member and/or attend the monthly executive meeting.  Many tournaments require a deposit during the off season, so you may have to contact an executive member.
  5. Before a cheque is sent, canvas members so you get a good indication of who wants to go.  Go to the team lists on this site to get phone numbers and an e-mail address for team members.  Usually you will require interest from at least 25 players to get a team of 10-12 to attend.
  6. Finally, collect the $40 fee from the players as-soon-as-you-can (give the money to the treasurer as we have a tournament account).  This is your best indication of who is committed.
