The following members are on the Discipline Committee for 2008 - 2009:

Pat Lapointe,

If you are interested in sitting on this committee, please contact an executive member.

Background

The Discipline Committee is generally an under-utilized group of people, and when called to act, often have difficult decisions to make.  When required or at the request of the referees, the committee gathers information and then make decisions about members behaviour on and off the ice. The discipline committee reports to the executive.

In addition to suspensions automatically assessed with game rules, the committee has the power to add to suspensions based upon the player's behaviour and the philosophy of the league.  A player may discuss an incident and the committee's decision at the monthly executive meeting.  When possible, this request should be presented in writing to an executive member prior to an executive meeting.

When requested, executive members and directors may be added to the committee in order to get enough people (usually three or four) together to make decisions. The goal being to make decisions quickly and equitably.
